Company Profile

Tri-Cities Laboratory, LLC, is a limited liability company formed in January, 1997 when Kadlec Medical Center and Trios Health joined with PAML in ownership of Columbia Bio-Medical Laboratory. In 1998, Lourdes Health Network joined with the other two hospitals and PAML in ownership of TCL. With the three hospitals and PAML as equal partners, TCL merged all laboratory operations in June, 1999. At that time, Bio-Medical Laboratories (CBML) began operations under the new name of Tri-Cities Laboratory, LLC (TCL). TCL now operates a central laboratory in Kennewick, Washington which serves as a core laboratory of the three hospitals and provides outpatient clinical laboratory services to physicians and clients in the Tri-Cities Washington area. TCL has management agreements with the three hospital partners to manage and operate the laboratory services within each hospital.

The driving force for forming TCL was the desire to gain efficiency by operating four laboratories as one; achieving standardization in testing methods and standardizing reporting throughout the community; and create a common source of clinical laboratory information by combining all laboratory functions using a single computer system.

PAML serves as the managing partner for TCL and provides TCL with full-service reference laboratory testing. PAML, a full-service reference laboratory located in Spokane,WA, is owned by Providence Health & Services (PH&S) and Catholic Health Inititiatives (CHI). Currently, PAML is ranked among the top clinical reference laboratories in the nation and is considered an industry leader in joint venture partnerships with community-based hospitals. PAML operates a state-of-the-art, full-service reference laboratory and maintains other laboratory operations throughout the northwestern United States. PAML currently provides a diverse range of testing services to over 100 hospitals throughout Washington, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Alaska, and Wyoming. In addition, they have hospital clients throughout the Western United States. (http://www.paml.com/)

When Kadlec opened its doors in 1944, the hospital was established to care for the Hanford area workers and their families. Since then, they have grown to a regional Medical Center providing care for the people throughout the Mid-Columbia.

As a non-profit, private corporation governed by local volunteer trustees, our decisions are made with our community's best interest in mind. We are dedicated to bringing you and your family not only some of the latest high-tech medical equipment but our staff is committed to providing all of our patients with compassionate, high quality care.

Kadlec is the home to a growing open heart surgery and interventional cardiology program, the region's only Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a world-class all digital outpatient imaging center as well as a number of other innovative services and programs.

Lourdes Medical Center, located in Pasco Washington, began opening in an isolated area in South Central Washington when the Sister's of St. Joseph arrived in Pasco in 1916 to open the first hospital between Yakima and Walla Walla. That was 84 years ago and much has changed since then. Our Lady of Lourdes Health Network includes Lourdes Medical Center, Lourdes Counseling Center, Lourdes Occupational Health Center, Lourdes Wilson House, Lourdes Physical Medicine Center, Lourdes Family Health Center, Lourdes Womens Center and several family clinics. Through expansion, a new building, revolutionary breakthroughs in technology and even a change in name, the mission of Lourdes Health Network and the Sister's of St. Joseph of Carondelet have consistently served our community with compassion and care, as an extension of the healing ministry of Jesus.
